About

Scott Tinkler – Photographer

I am a Washington, DC-based hobby photographer, videographer, graphic designer, photo editor, and self-proclaimed climate warrior. My wife and I travel to live and live to travel - and along the way, we enjoy documenting our experiences, sharing with others, and highlighting the beauty our planet has to offer in hopes that others will do what they can to preserve and sustain it.

Photography helps to liberate my creative juices and bring balance to my otherwise analytical life. I find that recording my experiences through visual medium is the best way I can hope to preserve these fleeting moments. At some point, I decided I would share our favorite experiences with others lest they lay dormant on my hard drive in perpetuity. Most of what I enjoy shooting is scenic vistas, but I also love shooting architecture and travel portraits of my beautiful wife, family and friends. I also enjoy creating art from my photography by creating alternative landscapes.

During our journeys, we have developed a healthy respect and reverence for our planet. By sharing our experiences and highlighting the beauty of our planet; we hope to inspire others to take action to protect it. Whether through simple actions like reducing our carbon footprint or supporting organizations that work towards environmental preservation, we are determined to do our small part in raising awareness and advocacy for like-minded travel junkies.

As climate change and biodiversity loss become more acute, we've become more attuned to the risks that specific destinations may face. Patagonia, Alaska, the Amazon, the Maldives, the Seychelles Islands, and Northern California are just a few examples of particularly vulnerable destinations. The threats these and other destinations face have led my wife and me to reevaluate the order in which we visit different places, so we can experience their beauty before they are further impacted.
